This loss has left the Bears head coach, Matt Eberflus, under fire for the choice that he made, which led to the loss against the Texans.
On Sunday, the Chicago Bears lost to the Houston Texans 19-13, and now Bears Coach Matt Eberflus seems poised to fail many of the fan’s expectations or initiate many of their disappointments, including challenging a particular play.
In the second quarter, when the score was 13-03 in favor of the Texans, CJ Stroud threw the ball to Stefon Diggs in the field to make it a first down. But the referees rejected the call even though during the jump Diggs’ feet were on the touchline.
In the play, Matt Eberflus, who is the head coach of the Bears, asked for a challenge, but the call was stood on. Tough fate for Australians, given their Eberflus decision that made Aussies go bonkers on social media.
The activities that were associated with Diggs received people’s attention more than the talent that he showcased during the match. He later was targeted for a 5-yard reception against the Colts and then caught his first touchdown pass for Houston during the season.
The 2024 season of football is expected to see Diggs score even more touchdowns, thus shattering more records.
Consequently, as the Chicago Bears coach, Eberflus’ job is to assist the team alter the course of the season. The result of the game indicates how the Bears are performing, and it is such aspects that Eberflus would have to sharpen for the next encounter.
Among the two teams, the Bears put up a really bad performance on the defensive side of the ball while the Texan’s offense took full advantage of this factor; this must be a worry for Eberflus as he looks forward to finding out how to fix the team on the said aspect.
But, this loss did not deter Eberflus from having faith in his team making it to the next level. He is still buoyant about his team, though we all know that there is no way they will win the tournament.
The next game of the Bears is with the team of Green Bay Packers. That game is another test that has to face Eberflus again. The pressure to beat the opponents has always been rising, and that is why Eberflus will have to make certain calls to ensure the season is on his side.
