If you love English metals, you must have heard the name of Paul Di’Anno. He is quite a well-known English singer. In the 1970s and 1980s, he became a frontman for Iron Maiden, a renowned heavy metal band.
Paul breathed his last at his home in Salisbury, England, at the age of 66.
The label Conquest Music, which represents Mr. Di’Anno, made this shocking announcement on Monday on social media. His fans were taken aback by this news! However, the post did not provide any other details.
Paul Andrews, known by Mr. Di’Anno, joined Iron Maiden as a lead singer on the heavy metal scene. He was associated with this band for quite a short tenure starting from 1978 till 1981. During this time, “Iron Maiden” in 1980 and “Killers” had their release.
However, he left the band and started performing with other bands, including Battlezone and Killers. Later, he also performed solo. His first career retrospective album, “The Book of the Beast,” was released in September.
In Iron Maiden, he was replaced by Bruce Dickinson. Di’Anno later admitted that his inclination to party all day had been a disappointment for the band and his fans. However, the current members of the band are deeply grieved at the news of his death and have paid tribute.
Iron Maiden’s bassist Steve Harris took time to post a heartfelt message of grief referring to the death of the singer Paul Di’Anno as devastating. Harris pointed out that, until recently, Di’Anno continued to perform and the thought that he could still entertain the people made him continue.
The band also issued a statement thanking Di’Anno for his incredible contribution to Iron Maiden’s success. They emphasized his revolutionary position as the band’s frontman and vocalist and the fact that everyone will remember him fondly for his songs and performances.
Unfortunately, Di’Anno died at his home in Salisbury, as his family reported through the Conquest Music Company. The label said they were honored to have Di’Anno join their artist roster and encouraged fans to raise a glass in his memory.
The curtains close on this legend’s career, but his thunderous voice will keep echoing through eternity. His musical journey will leave an indelible mark in the world of heavy metal.
